Ever since Disney cancelled Marvel’s Agent Carter, there has been calls from fans for a third season and following the characters appearance in Avengers: Endgame, there has been renewed interest in Agent Carter and a potential new series/special for Disney+.

Recently, Endgame screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely spoke with the LA Times about the return of the Agent Carter and the upcoming Disney+ shows.

Is there any chance “Agent Carter” could be revived or continued on Disney+ or would you think that’d be too hard to do now?

McFeely: From your lips to Bob Iger’s ears. I don’t know. It was an expensive show. You’re doing period as well as you can in Los Angeles. I don’t know how big the fanbase is, but what it is is really dedicated. And we love the character. So I don’t know, I just don’t know.

What would you like to see next for the next three phases of the MCU?

Markus: It’ll be fascinating to see what Kevin Feige does with the properties he’s now getting from the Fox merger with X-Men and Fantastic Four. And to see what the MCU version of those things is, because I very much doubt it will be something that resembles what you’ve seen before. So that will be very exciting.

McFeely: And streaming is really interesting [in terms of] longer-form storytelling. The MCU is one big long-form story, but to be able to spend six or eight hours with Falcon and the Winter Soldier getting deeper into that story, I think that is really intriguing.

Markus: They used to make Marvel shorts — two, three, five minutes of a little side story that you could follow — and now you can follow for 10 episodes instead of five minutes, and boy, you can go anywhere.

The second season ended on a cliffhanger back in 2016 and the creators were vocal about wanting to finish the story off properly.  But it could be viewed that the events of Avengers: Endgame did that, since Steve Rogers went back in time, married Agent Carter and they lived a happy life.  But this also opens up many questions on Agent Carter, but it does explain her “secret” husband, since she would have had to have hid Steve Rogers from the world and from his future self.

There are a few interesting moments in Endgame featuring characters from the Agent Carter T-Show, Howard Stark’s driver, Jarvis, makes an appearance in the movie and during the scene with Agent Carter, she is discussing a character called Braddock, which could be setting up the debut of another hero, Captain Britain, who’s alter ego is Brian Braddock.

This could be a way of continuing Agent Carter’s story in a new series or movie, set in the 1970’s, however personally, I feel Endgame finished off the story arc for Agent Carter and Steve Rogers, we know they’ve lived their lives together and having them dancing at home was the end of their story.

Hopefully the two seasons of Agent Carter are also available for fans on the new streaming service, Disney+, so anyone who hasn’t seen the series, will be able to.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of Agent Carter, but I feel her story is done. She got a happy ending and they drew a line in the sand under everything else. I think it would be good to see her cameo every now and again in flashbacks, but otherwise let her have her peace.
